In light of the challenging times we are all facing with the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), I wanted to update our valued customers and followers about how we are dealing with the situation at Anges. We are following government advice closely and monitoring each development. Our foremost priority is the health and safety of our customers, drivers and team.
As a food business we already maintain strict hygiene procedures in production adhering to a rigorous HACCP plan. As head baker, I have taken the sole responsibility of all production and produce all our cakes in complete isolation. Yes, the days may be long, and they may even be lonely, but it is important for us to limit exposure for our own health’s sake, as well as our delivery driver and customers’.
As well as producing in complete isolation, we have equipped our driver with gloves, sanitisers and wipes to use before and after every delivery. We have also implemented contactless delivery - the driver will leave the package on the doorstep or safe place and not request a signature, and will move 2 metres away from the door to observe social distancing. He will text a rough ETA in advance so the recipient is more aware of when the package is due to arrive and will inform of its arrival.
Selfridges made the difficult decision to temporarily close during the outbreak of Covid-19. Whilst this unfortunately means we will no longer be making cakes for collection, this is the best decision for everyone’s safety and we fully support them in their decision. We look forward to coming back when this blows over.
We completely understand the disruption this virus has caused to everyone’s daily lives and the impact it may have on our customers’ plans.
Our cancellation policy still applies (view full policy here), but is amended to a sliding scale based on notice period. We hope this offers some flexibility to our customers during these times.
For now, we will not be accepting any bespoke enquiries. This is because we cannot reliably source the niche items that may be required, and we also don't have the capacity to quote for bespoke designs. For this reason, we have also had to discontinue our free-from offering, which includes vegan and gluten/dairy/egg-free cakes.
As it's literally just me doing all the baking, bakery managing, emailing etc, we are no longer offering support over the phone. In the nicest possible way, I have to admit that phone calls are extremely distracting, and I need to focus on the baking to make sure all our cakes are the best possible cakes ever. Please write your enquiries to us via email. Our response times may be a little longer than usual but please bear with us.
We are getting a lot of enquiries for last minute cakes for today/tomorrow, or for cakes on dates that are not available in the availability calendar, and for cakes to collect. Please refer to our comprehensive FAQ page as they are all answered there. As I have such limited time to respond to emails I may not always get around to replying to those where either the answers are on the website or where I cannot actually help. I'm so sorry, we really mean this in the nicest way! It sucks to say no, but we can only make a certain amount of cakes to make sure they are all the best quality and once all our capacity is taken up, then we can't take on any more orders, even if previously we could accommodate orders with just two days notice. We are getting fully booked far in advance so please order in advance to avoid any disappointment.
Like most other small businesses, we are navigating an unprecedented and uncertain landscape, but with hope and positivity. Baking each cake is literally therapy and provides us a beautiful distraction. Implementing stricter hygiene measures is ultimately a great thing and makes us a better business. Caring for our elderly and neighbours is bringing out the best from us as a community. Spreading joy through our small birthday cakes for those celebrating in isolation is the biggest motivation we could ever have.
Thank you for your loyalty and support from the bottom of our hearts.
Lots of love,
Reshmi xoxo
Why there is no delivery on December 7th? I desperately need it. My twin sister has birthday and I haven’t seen her for 6 months and won’t be able to be there with her for our birthday. I would like to at least give her one of your cakes.

Hello, I am very interested in the frozen inspired cake for my daughters 3rd birthday. Her birthday is the 11th may, the cake doesn’t have to be very big as we are a family of 4. Can I please get a quote for the cake please and is it possible to be delivered to north London, Stoke Newington, N16.
Thank you,
