Private Cake Commissions

Bespoke Cakes

Anges de Sucre creates bespoke cakes for private celebrations across London and Surrey, made to order and designed from a blank page around flavour, setting, structure, guest count and the people at the heart of the occasion.

The Definition

What Makes A Cake Bespoke?

A bespoke cake is a private commission designed from scratch. It is not a standard cake with a name added, and it is not an existing product with a few decorative changes. It starts with the occasion, the room, the guest count, the mood, the menu, the flavour brief, the structure and the practical reality of delivery.

Personalised

An existing Anges de Sucre design finished with a simple identifying detail, such as a name, age, date, initials, short plaque message or supplied photo print.

Custom

An existing design materially adapted with toppers, figurines, logos, portraits, character-inspired detail, football colours or themed sugarcraft.

Bespoke

A blank-page commission designed around the event, venue, mood, guest count, structure, flavour and original concept.

A useful distinction: size, colour and flavour choices are product options. Names, ages and short messages are personalisation. Figurines, logos, illustrated portraits and themed design changes are custom work. Blank-page private commissions are bespoke.

The Work

What We Can Create

Bespoke Birthday Cakes

For milestone birthdays, private dinners and larger celebrations where the cake should feel personal, polished and memorable.

Bespoke Wedding Cakes

Designed around the venue, flowers, menu, guest count and the atmosphere of the day.

First Birthday Cakes

Soft, joyful and carefully portioned cakes for family gatherings, photography and early childhood themes handled with restraint.

Corporate Event Cakes

For launches, press events, client dinners and brand moments where the design needs to feel intelligent rather than like branded merch.

Floral Buttercream Cakes

Buttercream flowers, soft palettes and layered detail for celebrations that need movement, delicacy and hand-crafted finish.

Sculptural Cakes

Structured cakes with height, shape or architectural form, planned carefully so the design remains stable and edible.

The Process

How A Bespoke Cake Commission Works

01

Enquiry

You share the date, location, occasion, portions, design references, flavour preferences and budget range, along with venue or delivery details.

02

Creative Direction

We interpret the brief through setting, palette, mood, flavour and structure, so the cake has a clear point of view rather than a pile-up of ideas.

03

Design And Quote

The cake is priced according to scale, labour, detail, ingredients, structural work and delivery requirements. The quote reflects the work involved, not just the cake size.

04

Production

The cake is made to order, with specialist work such as buttercream flowers, sugar work, hand-piped detail or structural elements planned into the schedule.

05

Delivery

Standard hand delivery across London and Surrey is included as part of the service. Complex venue setup, timed installation, restricted access, stairs, specialist handling or addresses outside the standard area may require an additional logistics quote.

Budgets And Timing

Starting Budgets And Lead Times

Bespoke commissions generally begin around £500, with large wedding cakes, event cakes and technically demanding designs priced higher. The final quote reflects scale, labour, ingredients, structural work, delivery requirements and the level of detail involved.

Sugar flowers, sculptural work, hand-piped detail, rare ingredients, portion requirements and delivery conditions can all affect the final price. More notice allows stronger design, calmer production planning and smoother delivery.

Bespoke pricing reflects time, judgement, ingredients, structure, flavour work and the hand of the maker.

Flavour First

Designed Around Flavour, Structure And Setting

A bespoke cake should taste as considered as it looks. Flavour balance, texture, freshness, portioning, seasonality, event atmosphere, guest expectations and ingredient quality all matter.

Reshmi Bennett’s pastry background gives each commission a flavour-first foundation. The design matters, of course, but the cake still has to slice beautifully, eat properly and hold its place in the rhythm of the celebration.

Useful Guides

Before Commissioning A Bespoke Cake

Use these guides to move from inspiration to the practical details: consultation, process, lead time, flavour, delivery, craft and aftercare.

Begin A Commission

Tell Us What You Are Planning

A bespoke cake commission begins with a conversation. Tell us the date, occasion, delivery address, guest count, flavour preferences, visual references, budget range and venue details if relevant.

From there, we can understand whether the commission is the right fit, what level of work may be involved and how best to shape the cake around your celebration.
