Ornate piping
Layered borders, swags, shells and ruffles give the cake its unmistakably dressed-up silhouette.
The Regency Edit
Romantic piping, florals and beautifully excessive detail. Made in our London kitchen for birthdays, weddings and celebrations across London & Surrey.
The look
It is not one motif. The effect comes from disciplined excess: piping with rhythm, romantic colour, florals that feel gathered rather than arranged, and enough height to hold a room.
Layered borders, swags, shells and ruffles give the cake its unmistakably dressed-up silhouette.
Garden-inspired flowers soften the formality and keep the finish celebratory rather than costume-like.
Ivory, blush, powder blue and butter yellow work beautifully, with gold used as punctuation rather than wallpaper.
Tall proportions and tiered compositions make the cake feel like the centrepiece it is meant to be.
Reshmi's Regency Edit
Six designs that express the look most clearly, from a maximal birthday cake to a properly theatrical wedding centrepiece.

For the maximalist birthday.

For something softer and classically pretty.

For painterly romance and florals.

For an afternoon-tea mood.

For tea-table theatre with a playful edge.

For a statement wedding table.

More from the collection
The strongest Regency designs stay first. The broader ornate pieces remain available without being allowed to define the collection.
For customers who want the drama more than the period detail.
Piping that behaves badly, very precisely.
Help me choose
Start with the mood, not the keyword. These are the designs we would put in front of you first.
For birthdays
For birthdays, the strongest route is usually a one- or two-tier design with generous vintage piping, a deliberate colour story and a personalised plaque or message. Bright Lambeth is the obvious maximal choice; Windsor is quieter.

Wedding cakes need the same decorative language with better proportion: taller tiers, restrained repetition, venue-led colour and enough surface detail to read across a room. Start with Regency Vintage or our custom vintage-piped wedding cake.

“Ornate piping only looks luxurious when every line has a reason to be there.”
We use Swiss meringue buttercream for this style because it gives us clean definition without the heavy sweetness of traditional icing. The result can be elaborate without feeling clumsy: ruffles, shells and borders that still leave room for the sponge, ganache and flavour to matter.

Questions, answered
Think Regency romance translated into buttercream: ornate vintage piping, soft or theatrical colour, florals, tall proportions and a sense of occasion. We use those design cues without trying to imitate an official show cake.
Bright Lambeth is our strongest maximalist choice. Vintage Windsor is better if you want the same romantic language in a softer, more restrained cake.
Yes. Regency Vintage Wedding Cake and our Vintage Piped Wedding Cake are the strongest starting points. For a venue-led design, use our bespoke service.
Some designs have built-in options and others are better handled as a custom or bespoke request. If the exact palette matters, use the custom or bespoke route rather than assuming every product can be recoloured.
Where the product allows it, yes. Personalisation is the quickest way to make an existing design specific to the celebration without redesigning the cake.
Yes. For a cake built around a venue, invitation suite, tablescape or very specific reference mood, commission a bespoke cake and we can design from scratch.
Flavour choices vary by design. Depending on the cake, options can include vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, lemon, pistachio and other Anges de Sucre flavours. Check the individual product before ordering.
We hand-deliver cakes across London & Surrey using our own drivers. For an important event, we recommend delivery the day before where practical so the cake is already safely with you.
