Terms of service
Last updated: 9 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases from Anges de Sucre and use of our website.
Please read them together with our:
- Refund, Cancellation & Returns Policy;
- Delivery Policy; and
- Privacy Policy.
Nothing in these terms affects rights that you have under applicable consumer law.

2. Ordering
You are responsible for checking the information entered when placing an order, including:
- product;
- size;
- flavour;
- wording;
- personalisation;
- delivery date;
- delivery address;
- postcode;
- recipient details; and
- contact number.
Please check your order confirmation carefully and tell us about any error as soon as possible.
An order is subject to availability and our ability to fulfil it.
Where we accept an order and subsequently discover that we cannot fulfil it, we will contact you and refund any amount due.
3. Payment
Unless we expressly agree otherwise, payment is required in full when an order is placed or booked.
This includes bespoke and wedding cake orders. We do not ordinarily operate a deposit-and-balance system for these orders.
Prices and any additional charges shown or expressly agreed at the time of purchase form part of the order.
4. Cakes are handmade
Our cakes are made and decorated by hand.
Small differences between:
- website photographs;
- reference photographs;
- samples;
- sketches; and
- the finished cake
are normal.
Variations may occur in colour, piping, flowers, handmade decorations, placement, shape and other finishing details.
Such minor variations are not, by themselves, defects.
5. Reference and inspiration images
If you give us a photograph or image as inspiration, it is treated as creative direction unless we expressly agree to reproduce particular details.
The finished cake will be our interpretation and is not guaranteed to be an exact replica.
6. Minor substitutions
Occasionally a particular ingredient, flower, decorative item, colour or other element may become unavailable or unsuitable.
We may make a reasonable minor substitution without contacting you first where the substitution maintains the overall character, quality and value of the order.
We will not use this provision to make a material change to the essential nature of the product.
7. Customer-supplied images and intellectual property
If you ask us to reproduce or use a:
- photograph;
- logo;
- character;
- illustration;
- artwork;
- trademark; or
- other protected material,
you are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary permission or legal right to ask us to use it.
We may decline material where we reasonably believe its use would be unlawful or inappropriate.
8. Allergens and dietary requirements
You must tell us about allergies and dietary requirements before ordering.
Our kitchen handles ingredients including:
- gluten;
- milk and other dairy products;
- eggs; and
- nuts.
Because these ingredients are handled in the same production environment, we cannot guarantee that any product is completely free from traces of an allergen.
Customers with a serious or severe allergy should contact us before ordering so that we can discuss suitability.
Information given by us about ingredients or allergens should not be interpreted as a guarantee of an allergen-free production environment.
9. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free requests
Our standard cake range is vegetarian.
Vegan or gluten-free cakes are not part of our normal standard range, although we may occasionally agree to make one as a special request.
You must contact us before ordering so that we can confirm whether the request is feasible.
Any special-request vegan or gluten-free cake is still prepared in the same kitchen in which gluten, dairy, eggs and nuts are handled.
We therefore cannot guarantee that it is free from traces of these allergens.
10. Non-edible decorations and structural elements
A cake may contain or be supplied with items that are not intended to be eaten, including:
- fresh flowers;
- wires;
- picks;
- dowels;
- supports;
- ribbons;
- toppers; or
- other structural or decorative components.
The customer or person serving the cake is responsible for removing non-edible items as appropriate before consumption.
11. Changes to an order
Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to change an order.
Changes are subject to:
- production status;
- availability;
- practicality; and
- any additional work or cost involved.
Where a requested change increases the cost of making or delivering the order, an additional charge may apply.
12. Moving a bespoke or wedding cake date
If you ask us to move a bespoke or wedding cake to another date and the new date is available and operationally possible, we will move the booking without charging a date-change fee.
If we cannot accommodate the new date, the original booking remains in place unless you cancel under our Refund, Cancellation & Returns Policy.
13. Customer cancellations
Cake orders are perishable and often made to order or personalised.
Cancellation rights and any applicable cancellation charges are set out in our Refund, Cancellation & Returns Policy.
Our normal cake cancellation schedule is based on the original agreed delivery date.
Nothing in these Terms allows us to retain more than we are legally entitled to retain or removes a statutory right that applies to a particular purchase.
14. Cancellation by us
If we cannot fulfil an accepted order because of something on our side, we will refund the amount paid for the affected order in full.
Where appropriate, we may first discuss an alternative with you, but you do not have to accept a materially different substitute.
15. Delivery
Our standard cake deliveries are made by our own delivery team.
Standard delivery is complimentary within the London and Surrey areas that we serve.
Further-afield delivery may be arranged individually and an additional charge may apply.
Our normal delivery arrangements, safe-place rules, live tracking, priority service and failed-delivery procedure are explained in our Delivery Policy.
16. Safe-place instructions
A fallback safe-place instruction is required for cake delivery.
Where nobody is available, we may use that instruction to complete the delivery.
Our driver will retain photographic evidence of a safe-place delivery and tell the customer or recipient where the cake has been left.
If the nominated place is unsuitable or inaccessible, our driver may use reasonable judgement to identify another appropriate nearby safe place.
The detailed rules are contained in our Delivery Policy.
17. Storage and serving
Once a cake has been delivered, the customer is responsible for following the storage and serving instructions supplied with it.
Cakes should generally be kept appropriately refrigerated until required.
As a guide, cakes should normally be brought out of refrigeration around three hours before serving, adjusted according to ambient temperature.
They are best enjoyed within around five days and may remain suitable for around seven days when stored correctly.
Freezing is possible where a cake is appropriately wrapped, but we do not generally recommend it because freezing may affect the texture and decorative finish.
18. Problems with a cake
If you identify a problem, please contact us as soon as possible.
Where possible, photograph any issue before the cake is cut or served.
Please provide:
- your order number;
- photographs; and
- a description of the issue.
If part of the cake has already been eaten, keep the remaining cake refrigerated and available for inspection or return if reasonably requested.
A completely eaten cake cannot physically be returned, but this does not prevent consideration of a genuine complaint or affect rights that cannot legally be excluded.
19. Personal preference
Taste is subjective.
Disliking a particular flavour, sweetness level or style does not by itself establish that a cake is defective where it matches its description and is otherwise of satisfactory quality.
20. Physical merchandise
Eligible non-perishable physical goods are subject to applicable statutory cancellation and return rights.
Details are contained in our Refund, Cancellation & Returns Policy.
21. Digital content
Digital recipes and other downloads may be supplied immediately.
Where you expressly request immediate supply and acknowledge that you will lose the normal cancellation right once supply begins, that right ends when supply starts to the extent provided by law.
Your statutory rights in relation to faulty digital content remain unaffected.
22. Gift cards
Anges de Sucre gift cards are digital codes.
Unless otherwise stated at purchase:
- they expire one year after issue;
- they cannot be exchanged for cash;
- they are not refundable simply because they remain unused or the purchaser changes their mind, except where the law requires otherwise; and
- an extension after expiry may be offered at our discretion as a gesture of goodwill.
You are responsible for keeping the gift-card code secure.
23. Promotions and discount codes
Promotions and discount codes may be subject to additional terms communicated with the offer.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, promotional offers:
- have no cash value;
- cannot be retrospectively applied to an order already placed; and
- may be withdrawn or corrected where an obvious error has occurred, subject to orders already validly accepted and applicable law.
A promotional price does not reduce your statutory rights.
24. Website information
We take reasonable care to keep product descriptions, pricing and other website information accurate.
Occasional errors may occur.
If an obvious error materially affects an order, we will contact you rather than knowingly fulfil an order on an incorrect basis.
We may correct website errors when identified.
25. Website photographs and colours
We make reasonable efforts to represent products accurately online.
Screen settings, lighting and the handmade nature of our products mean that colour and appearance may differ slightly from a photograph displayed on a device.
26. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the content of the Anges de Sucre website, including:
- text;
- photographs;
- graphics;
- branding;
- cake imagery;
- designs; and
- other original material
belongs to us or is used with permission.
You may use the website for ordinary personal shopping and browsing.
You must not reproduce our content commercially without permission where intellectual-property law prohibits that use.
27. Our responsibility
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
In particular, nothing in these Terms excludes liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
- statutory consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Where you are a consumer, we are responsible for losses which are a foreseeable consequence of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law.
We are not responsible for losses caused solely by events occurring after proper delivery which are outside our control, such as improper storage, unauthorised transport, mishandling, theft following an authorised safe-place delivery or failure to follow storage instructions, except to the extent the law provides otherwise.
28. Events outside reasonable control
Circumstances such as severe weather, road closures, accidents, emergencies or other events outside our reasonable control can affect production or delivery.
We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and contact affected customers where necessary.
This provision does not remove rights that you have under applicable law.
29. Complaints
Please contact us first so that we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve a problem.
Email:
Please include your order number where relevant.
30. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms for future use.
An update to the website Terms will not retrospectively change the terms of an already accepted order unless:
- the law requires it; or
- you agree to the change.
31. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent legally possible.
32. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of any mandatory protections or rights to bring proceedings that apply to you under the law.
