A Bollywood Lambeth cake of Madagascan vanilla sponge and vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream, finished with intricate hand-piped ruffles, ropes and frills. The sponge is soft, light and quietly fragrant, layered with silky buttercream for a clean vanilla finish. Rich colour, paisley detail and saree-inspired stencilling bring the exuberance of South Asian celebration to the precision of classic Lambeth piping.

I wanted this cake to feel like a meeting of two worlds: vintage Lambeth formality and the colour, pattern and joy of a South Asian celebration. The idea was not to make it quieter, but to make the abundance feel controlled, detailed and elegant, like a beautiful sari given the Bridgerton treatment.
