As a cake-purist, I'm not personally bowled over by red velvet as a flavour. It's like a halfway house between vanilla and chocolate. And red is not a flavour. However, it's one of our most popular flavours, and I like to treat all our cakes with the same respect. And the Lady in Red Velvet was thus designed with the utmost respect. It’s a cake meant to steal the show, making every bite feel as rich as the occasion itself. It's fancy, not tacky; rich but not sickly.

What makes this cake stand out is its deep, velvety red sponge layers and the smooth, silky Swiss meringue buttercream that wraps around it. It’s not just about taste; it’s about creating a visual and sensory experience that lingers.

Red Velvet Sponge: Wheat flour (gluten), eggsmilk, buttermilk (milk), sugar, baking powder, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, colouring Red [Vegetable Glycerine E422, Mono Propylene Glycol E1520, Water, Ponceau 4R E124, Allura Red E129].

Buttercream: Sugar, egg white, butter (milk), vanilla extract, salt.

Chocolate Drip: Dark chocolate (milk, soya), butter (milk).

Decorations -

Red Velvet Brownie Truffles: Wheat flour (gluten), eggs, butter (milk), dark chocolate (milk, soya), milk, buttermilk (milk), sugar, baking powder, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, colouring Red [Vegetable Glycerine E422, Mono Propylene Glycol E1520, Water, Ponceau 4R E124, Allura Red E129].

White Chocolate Crispearls: White Chocolate 85% (sugar, cocoa fat, dry whole milk, milk sugar, dry cream, whey, natural vanilla flavour), crisped cereals (wheat flour, sugar, wheat malt flour, wheat starch, sodium bicarbonate added as raising agent, vegetable fat (soya, palm, rapeseed), salt, natural vanilla flavour), sugar, glucose syrup (wheat), modified potato starch. May contain peanuts, nuts, milk.

Although not necessarily present in this particular product, the colours used across our range of products may include the colours E102*, E104, E110, E122 & E129 - which may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in some children. Storage: To maintain freshness, wrap the box in cling-film and store the cake in the fridge if not serving the same day. Read more about storage and shelf-life

Serving: Allow the cake to reach room temperature before serving, usually taking about 3 hours. Serving it directly from the fridge may result in a harder texture and less pronounced flavours.

To preserve our signature design and flavour, we currently offer customisation limited to personalised messages on the cake board. For bespoke requests, please get in touch.

We can accommodate vegan,
gluten-free, or nut-free requests by getting in touch.

Store the cake in a cool, dry place. If the ambient temperature is warm, cover the box in clingfilm, refrigerate
it and bring it to room temperature at least one hour before serving.
