My only memories of my only visit to Las Vegas is from being a 4 year old in a hotel room for one evening. It was a pit stop on our USA family holiday for the parents to have some grown up fun after weeks of Disneyworld, Universal Studios etc. So the only inspiration I have to go by to create a Vegas themed cake is from Casino Royale, that episode in FRIENDS, and the Hangover. Bright lights and debauchery. Somehow I cannot picture my conservative Indian parents getting that involved but hey, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right??
With the design of this cake I've skipped the crass and kept it classy and cheeky. No booze, boobs, bums that sort of thing, but belting bolshy!
Three fat layers - a chocolate brownie layer, red velvet and vanilla sponges, sandwiched and frosted with red and white vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream and chocolate ganache drips over forming the coolest canvas for our big Las Vegas themed birthday cake.
Chocolate covered Oreo poker chips and chocolate playing cards with crunchy pin balls, this cake looks as fun as it is to eat. Having a James Bond or Vegas themed birthday do? A hen or a stag but can't quite get to Vegas? While we are nowhere near Nevada, this guy brought a slice of the Vegas action to our kitchen this week and I think it'll fit right into your Lon-Vegas bash.
Lots of love,
