Posh Chocolate Hazelnut Cake

Chocolate and hazelnut is one of those pairings that never needs shouting about. I wanted this cake to feel a little grown-up and quietly glamorous, with the richness softened by elegant piping, muted tones and macarons. It is posh without being precious, which is exactly where I like a celebration cake to sit.

Chocolate Sponge:  Flour (wheat, gluten), sugar, egg, milk, cocoa, sunflower oil, sodium bicarbonate (raising agent: E500), instant coffee granules, vanilla extract.

Buttercream: Sugar, egg white, butter (milk), vanilla extract, salt, cocoa.

Decorations:

Macarons: Icing Sugar, Almonds (Nuts), Sugar, Butter (Milk), Egg White, Tonka Bean Extract (natural flavouring), Cream (Milk), White chocolate (Belgian white chocolate Couverture, sugar, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, cocoa mass, emulsifier; soya lecithin, natural vanilla), colour e133, e122.

Crushed hazelnuts (nuts).

Our cakes are vegetarian and made in bakeries that handle wheat, gluten, eggs, milk and nuts. We do not offer vegan or gluten-free cakes. Standard delivery is by our own drivers within the London and Surrey areas we serve; further-afield delivery may be arranged in advance. Our bakeries are not customer collection points.
