The sponge is light, bright and citrus-led, with fresh lemon zest and juice giving a clean sharpness through each layer. A good lemon cake should feel bright, clean and properly alive. I wanted this one to have the comfort of a classic lemon drizzle, but with sharper curd, softer buttercream and just enough crumb to make each forkful feel finished.
Lemon Sponge: Flour (wheat, gluten), sugar, egg, milk, buttermilk (milk), yoghurt (milk), sunflower oil, baking powder, lemon zest, lemon juice, natural lemon flavouring with other natural flavourings, vanilla extract, salt
Buttercream: Sugar, egg white, butter (milk), vanilla extract, salt.
Decorations-
Lemon Curd: Sugar, Lemon Juice, Whole Eggs, Butter (Milk), Tapioca Starch.
Shortbread Crumble: Flour (Wheat), Butter (Milk), Sugar, Cornflour, Salt.

Every cake is baked to order in our London kitchen, then hand-delivered by our own team. Complimentary delivery is included across London & Surrey, with live tracking and careful temperature-controlled handling from bakery to doorstep.
Cake Care
Your cake is baked fresh for your chosen date and keeps beautifully for up to five days from delivery. Store it carefully, serve it at room temperature, and the sponge and buttercream will be at their best.
