When I got good grades on a test at school, my dad used to take me to an ice cream shop for a treat. And if it was an A*, I would be able to get the chocolate fudge flavour. That's what this cake reminds me of. It's deep, chocolatey, with a rich flavour and fudgy texture, complemented by the gooey, saucy goodness of the salted caramel sauce.

This cake might be simple in presentation compared to our other, far more elaborate designs, but here, the flavours do the heavy lifting. Even from the moment you open the box, the heady, deep smell of cocoa from the Belgian chocolate and scratch-made salted caramel sauce hits you like nothing else, and you can't help but dig in.

The combination of the rich, deep flavours of Valrhona Belgian cocoa powder in the soft and moist sponge and smooth Swiss meringue buttercream is always going to be a winner. But when pepped up with a puddle of sea-salted caramel sauce and a generous scatter of Cornish fudge, this cake ticks all the boxes: sweet, slightly savoury, soft, silky, moist, light yet rich.

Simple yet stylish, this cake is at home at any birthday celebration. But I think it's perfect for those smaller, yet very important occasions—anniversaries, office promotions, leaving dos, or even to cheer someone up who is going through a hard time.

Serving: Allow the cake to reach room temperature before serving, usually taking about 3 hours. Serving it directly from the fridge may result in a harder texture and less pronounced flavours.

To preserve our signature design and flavour, we currently offer customisation limited to personalised messages on the cake board. For bespoke requests, please get in touch.

We can accommodate vegan,

Store the cake in a cool, dry place. If the ambient temperature is warm, cover the box in clingfilm, refrigerate
it and bring it to room temperature at least one hour before serving.
