Meta Chocolate Cake

This cake is my Inception joke taken far too seriously: chocolate cake, on chocolate cake, on chocolate cake. The real point, though, is the cocoa. We use Callebaut Belgian cocoa for proper depth, warmth and that unmistakable chocolate aroma when the box opens. It is playful on the outside, but the flavour has to be grown-up, generous and properly chocolate-led.

Chocolate Sponge: Self raising flour (wheat/gluten), bicarbonate of soda, sugar, eggs, milk, sunflower oil, cocoa powder, coffee.

Buttercream: Sugar, egg white, butter (milk), vanilla extract, salt.

Milk Chocolate Crispearls: Milk chocolate (sugar, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, whey powder, cocoa mass, emulsifier; soyalecithin, natural vanilla flavouring), Crisped cereals (wheat flour, sugar, malt flour, wheat starch, raising agent E500ii, vegetable fat, salt, natural vanilla), Sugar, Glucose syrup, Modified starch.

Although not necessarily present in this particular product, the colours used across our range of products may include the colours E102*, E104, E110, E122 & E129 - which may have an adverse effect on activity and attention in some children. All products are produced on premises handling eggs, gluten, nuts, peanuts, milk, sesame and soya hence may contain traces. Please note cakes may contain cocktail sticks and dowelling for support. Each cake is hand-made individually and carefully and while will look similar to the images, may not be identical.

Our cakes are vegetarian and made in bakeries that handle wheat, gluten, eggs, milk and nuts. We do not offer vegan or gluten-free cakes. Standard delivery is by our own drivers within the London and Surrey areas we serve; further-afield delivery may be arranged in advance. Our bakeries are not customer collection points.
