At Anges we think it's all of that and created our version by amping up the oomph factor and making it totally deep, dark and deliciously naughty. You could almost picture Jessica Rabbit jumping out of this cake singing "Happy Birthday, Mr President". Order in advance to guarantee availability.
The history of Red Velvet cake goes something like this: bakers a long time ago added red food colouring to cake sponges to make them more visually striking. They believed red hue was suggestive, tempting and attention-grabbing. We eat with our eyes first don't we?

Cake Sponges
Three layers of red velvet sponges with Belgian cocoa and buttermilk. Sandwiched with glorious Swiss meringue buttercream.
Frosting & Glaze
Smothered in smooth Swiss meringue buttercream and glazed in Belgian chocolate ganache.

Cakes are delivered during normal working hours. Our driver will provide an ETA on the morning of the delivery. If you cannot accept delivery please make alternative arrangements, e.g. leave with neighbour. We wil work it out!
All our cakes are produced on premises handling wheat (gluten), eggs, milk, dairy, soya, nuts and peanuts. We are unable to offer in good-faith free-from or vegan options as we feel we would need seperate premises.
