Our cakes get delivered alllll over London - most days we are delivering all across, from Ilford to Kingston, Harrow to Croydon! Sometimes even surprisingly far out - this week our cakes have been to Guildford and Gloucester too.
London is massive, and incredibly diverse. I feel so in-my-skin in most places...other than trendy places. I'm just not cool enough - I wake up at the same time every day, drink black filter coffee, dress comfortably, eat gluten, meat and dairy, and go to bed at the same time every night. To me, Shoreditch is STILL trendy, and will always be too trendy for me. With London's widespread gentrification, up-and-coming-ness I know it's kind of been eclipsed by Lewisham, Peckham etc BUT it's still Shoreditch - the original mecca of bearded, skinny jeaned, soya milk flat white sippin' hipsters.
While I may not be worthy in the trendo-meter scales for Shoreditch, our cakes fit RIGHT IN BOOYA! This gargantuan beautiful beast of a croquembouche birthday cake was customised for Delilah and Irene - the brief was red, pink, glam, gold, and salted caramel and delivered to The Curtain Members Club in Shoreditch. SO TRENDY R US!
This customised croquembouche embodies the brief brilliantly - Glazed eclairs and profiteroles filled with salted caramel Swiss meringue buttercream, pink and red piped roses, golden Ferrero Rocher mini cones, gold and pink baked buttermilk doughnuts, salted caramel crispearls, salted caramel macarons, raspberry macarons and lots of lovely luscious layers of chocolate sponge and salted caramel buttercream all glazed with Belgian chocolate ganache drip.
So I may not quite make it past the velvet ropes at the club meself...but the cake sure did ;)
Lots of love,
