I met Amy and Godfrey over the summer in our sweet cake shop to chat about making their wedding cake and they're one of those couples that REALLY make you want to work with on their wedding day - they were so enthusiastic, so fun, and such cool awesome people that clearly dig each other (oh I've met a few couples that really aren't any of the above as well...but we'll leave those stories for when I've had a bit of the el vino okay? ;)). 

The brief was:

Wedding cake: 2-tier (8"/10") chocolate sponge, ombré blue to ivory cookies n cream frosting, Belgian chocolate glaze, decorated with chocolate, cookies n cream and vanilla macarons, cookies n cream marshmallows, silver lustre pearls and silver lustre oreos.
2 Mini Honeymoon cakes: 1 with chocolate sponge, blue cookies n cream buttercream, Belgian chocolate glaze, cookies n cream macaron, popcorn, baked buttermilk doughnut and Oreo cookie
And the other with vanilla sponge, Lemon yellow buttercream, Belgian chocolate glaze, lemon macaron, raspberry marshmallows and freeze dried raspberry bits

Wait WHUT?! HONEYMOON CAKES?! That is SO CUTE! I LOVE THESE GUYS!

We delivered the wedding + honeymoon cake motherload to Amy's sister in Hertfordshire who then took the monster responsibility to drive them all the way to Shropshire to their final resting place - The Mytton and Mermaid Hotel in Shrewsbury. To help calm the nerves of such a massive task we packed a cake-emergency-SOS kit with extra macarons, etc to cover up any bumps and blemishes along the way. I think it's safe to say Amy's sister did a stellar job and transporting all the cakes as they look picture perfect happily ever after :)

"Best.Wedding cake. Ever. Absolutely perfect for the day and we are so grateful for making such a DELICIOUS blue wedding cake!" - the sweetest testimonial making me remember this cake and the whole process of creating it with Amy & Godfrey with such fondness!
