Since her arrival in 1959, Barbie (real name - Barbara Millicent Roberts, who knew huh?) has taken on every roll imaginable, from Doctor Barbie to NASCAR Barbie, and has been a popular feature in young girls' doll collections. I had quite a few Barbie dolls when I was a kid, and while one of my dreams as a little girl was to grow up to be an astronaut like my favourite Barbie and have a lion cub as a pet, I was always disappointed that none of my Barbies' hair would grow back after my artistic haircuts.

In the long and illustrious history of the Barbie doll, Barbie-maker Mattel hasn't been able to come up with a solution for no-hair-growing-back, however they have launched the super savvy Fashionista Barbies for the serious collectors who wouldn't dare touch the hair. Oscar de la Renta, Christian Dior, and Givenchy have all dressed this iconic doll and looking through the designs I can even remember real life versions of the outfits donned by celebrities through the years and it looks very much like a fashion timeline!

Barbie's latest make-over comes in the form of the super popular bandage-style bodycon dress by Herve Leger. It's hot, it's for grown-ups, and it comes with a bondage-ey harness belt and cut-out knee-high boots.

I was invited to the launch party at their Lowndes Street London boutique on the 23rd of October which was a super swanky red-carpet affair with celebrities such as Tamara Ecclestone, and Made in Chelsea stars Louise Thompson, Kimberly Garner, Hugo, and canapes and champagne on tap.

Also in attendance were fashion-fave Anges mini-macarons in Earl Gray, Lavender Fields, Morning Sunshine, Amalfi Citron and Pistache Vera - they're the most bandage-dress-friendly-treats with all the luscious flavours and less than half the calories of standard macarons, but of course dah'lin!

I'm off to whip this baker's body into shape to squeeze into one of Herve Leger's super sexy dresses and hoping the mini-macaron-diet is going to help along.
